Troupers at the Tolson Museum

Troupers at the Tolson Museum

The Mikron Theatre Company brought their play ‘Troupers’ to the performance area in the new Heritage Memorial Garden at Tolson Museum.

The play is the story of the coming together of a group of artists, who entertained the troops in France in the First World War. It was a particularly appropriate story to be played out in the shadow of the home of Legh Tolson. He gave his home to Huddersfield as a memorial to his two nephews who were killed in the First World War.

Though the garden is not yet quite complete, it was able to host the event.  Over 80 people came to enjoy this very lively and moving production. Refreshments were served. This was the first event that the Friends of Tolson and Ravensknowle have arranged in their new exciting venue. It was a great success and there are plans for many more.
