Memories of visits to Tolson Museum and Ravensknowle Park were remembered at a meeting of Lindley Wednesday Fellowship Group. Playing tennis, paddling in the pool, a noisy peacock, the weather station all were recalled. However the most discussed were the half animals, in particular the pig. These, of course, are still in the museum. The Group were fascinated to learn of the new found fame of the pig. The fact that it “tweets” and so communicates with animals in other museums, and in fact the world! To many it was something out of Alice in Wonderland!
The Group were also told about the history of the Museum, and why Ravensknowle House became Tolson Museum. They learned about the future and scrutinised the plans for the Heritage Memorial Garden to be built there this Spring. Ann Denham, the speaker noted their comments.
