Heritage Memorial Garden at Tolson Museum – Work has started!
After many delays and problems at last a contract is agreed and work has started on the Heritage Memorial Garden at Tolson Museum. Completion date is agreed to be 1st August.
As part of the garden there will be three sculptures and a timeline. Peter Maris, stone mason and sculptor has been appointed to create these features. Peter for many years worked at York Minster and more recently at Scammonden Dam. So far he has consulted with the ‘Tea & Cake’ group and other local people. He has run several sessions with pupils at Moor End Academy and pupils in the Almondbury Community Schools Partnership.
An exhibition of the work of the pupils will be on display at the museum at the opening of the garden.
