Heritage Memorial Garden at Tolson Museum – Work has started!

After many delays and problems at last a contract is agreed and work has started on the Heritage Memorial Garden at Tolson Museum. Completion date is agreed to be 1st August. Newsletter June 2014 Newsletter June 2014 As part of the garden there will be three sculptures and a timeline. Peter Maris, stone mason and sculptor has been appointed to create these features. Peter for many years worked at York Minster and more recently at Scammonden Dam. So far he has consulted with the ‘Tea & Cake’ group and other local people. He has run several sessions with pupils at Moor End Academy and pupils in the Almondbury Community Schools Partnership. Drawn to Sport

A celebration of the life and artwork of Ken Taylor. Born in Dalton, Ken went to a local school. He excelled at sport, played football for Huddersfield Town and cricket for Yorkshire and England. Also a brilliant artist, his pictures of fellow sportsmen and local scenes as well as sports memorabilia will be on display in Tolson Museum until mid September. Exhibition details.
